New partnership ensures summer boost for 500 Peterborough children
Hundreds of Peterborough children are to get a school holidays boost thanks to a new partnership between Youth Dreams Project and city business Millfield Autos.
More than 500 children from families facing financial challenges across Peterborough will receive a free sports bag, reusable water bottle and footballs this summer as a result of the two organisations teaming up.
The initiative will support children attending Youth Dreams Project’s Holiday Activities and Food Summer Camps, funded by Peterborough City Council.
The programme provides eligible children with free holiday camps, healthy lunches and enriching activities throughout the school holidays.

The generosity of Millfield Autos means every child attending will also receive a free Youth Dreams Project sports bag and reusable water bottle to use throughout the holidays, with footballs also being donated to encourage children to stay active long after camp has finished.
Luke Kennedy, director of Youth Dreams Project, said: "We're incredibly grateful to Millfield Autos for getting behind this initiative.
"These gifts might seem simple, but to many children they mean a lot. #]
"Every child deserves to feel included, valued and excited to come to camp.
He said: “The summer holidays can be difficult for many families but through this programme we're able to provide a safe place where children can enjoy themselves, make new friends, eat a healthy meal and create fantastic memories.
"Partnerships like this help us go even further."
He said the Youth Dreams Project’s camps encouraged children to be physically active, develop confidence, build friendships and spend more time outdoors.
The summer programme includes a variety of activities designed for children of all abilities, from traditional sports and team games to inflatables, competitions, themed days and confidence-building challenges.
Az of Millfield Autos, based at Bourges View Park, Maskew Avenue, said: “As a local business, we're passionate about giving back to our community.
"We're proud to support Youth Dreams Project and the fantastic work they do with young people across Peterborough.
"We hope these gifts help children enjoy an even more memorable summer."
