A new charity shop has opened of Peterborough; supporting the work of Goldhay Arts.
The registered charity supports adults with learning difficulties and sensory impairment through the pursuits of performing and visual arts from its base at the Ortongate Shopping Centre.
The charity runs a day centre as well as a number of other dance, drama, craft and music groups to provide personal development opportunities through experience of the performing and visual arts.
The shop is located at 34-36 Ortongate Shopping Centre and is open from 9:30am to 3pm.

An official opening was held to celebrate the opening with councillor Kirsty Knight cutting the ribbon after a very special performance from the charity’s Tuesday morning dance group.
Cllr Knight said: “It is wonderful to see this now shop open. Goldhay Arts do so much good work involving music, drama and singing. These are three creative activities that are great for the soul, for mental health and for the mind.
"It was a pleasure to declare the new shop open.”
One of the major projects that the charity is hoping to raise funds for- alongside supporting its existing work- is a new minibus.

The bus would be used to pick up all visitors to the day centre, with the current arrangements involving a number of individual taxi journeys, as well as allowing for a range of trips to enrich the experience such as the art museums and exhibitions in London and across the country.
