More than 90 per cent of Peterborough children get preferred primary school places
About 95 per cent of children in Peterborough have secured the preferred primary school in the city, according to new figures.
Data released by Peterborough City Council shows that 94.22 per cent of children have been offered a place at their first preference school starting in September this year.
And the proportion of children offered a place at their first or second preference school was 97.62 per cent with 98.21 per cent offered their first, second or third preference school.
Parents now have until April 30 to accept the offers in order to secure the school place.

John Gregg, Peterborough City Council's Director of Children's Services, said: "I am delighted that once again so many young people have been able to receive their preferred choice of primary school.
"We are fully committed to ensuring that every child in Peterborough receives the best possible education and this all starts with pupils securing a school place.”
A council spokesperson said that parents who applied online would receive an email with their child's allocated school details.
Parents will need to accept their school places by contacting the offered school directly.
Alternatively parents can login to view their offer on our website.
All school place offers must be accepted by April 30 to ensure their offered school place is secured for September 2026.
