More pop up school uniform swap shops coming to Peterborough city centre ahead of new academic year
Families will be able to stock up on essential school uniforms ahead of the new academic year at a series of swap shops in Peterborough City Centre.
Following the success of a similar event last week in the city centre, Peterborough City Council has confirmed there will be at least four more uniform swap shops this month.
With around a month to go before pupils return to school, the service will be useful to many families.
A spokesperson for the council said on social media: “Over 600 people joined us at our Second Chance School Uniform Pop-up event last Friday!
“Families from across Peterborough came along to take, donate and swap school uniforms, coats, shoes and other essential items ahead of the new school year.
“A huge thank you to everyone who attended and to all the teams and volunteers who helped make the event such a success.
“We're pleased to announce that our Second Chance School Uniform Shop in St Peter's Arcade will be open on request until 1 October. If you need school uniform items, please email [email protected] and the team will arrange a time to meet you at the city centre location.
“We're also hosting a series of pop-up opening sessions at the St Peter's Arcade location during August:
• Friday 7 August: 11am to 3pm
• Thursday 13 August: 12pm to 4.30pm
• Friday 21 August: 11am to 3pm
• Friday 28 August: 11am to 3pm
“You'll also be able to find us at a series of mini pop-up uniform shops at community events across the city this summer.”
