Letter: Nene Park has become a tip thanks to easing lockdown
Never busy, and with plenty of space it was good to get out for our daily bout of exercise.
However, since lockdown was eased, in such a short space of time the state of the park has become disgraceful. And for once its difficult to blame Nene Park authorities, as like others, they are following govt guidelines for staffing.

Hide AdThe place has become a rubbish tip. Empty fast packaging strewn around the place, beer cans in the hundreds have just been left on pathways and bushes. After a short stroll around last night, (25th May), it’s clear either many more rangers need to be there, or close, as Rutland and Grafham have stayed closed.
With wildlife now having young it’s not going to be very good for them.
In less than a week of fast food places being able to trade, including drive through coffee shops as well as well known others, it would seem as though Ferry Meadows needs to close to clean up the mess of careless and mindless lazy people that just don’t seem able to use the bins on site.
Nene Park authorities are not at fault, I must stress.
