‘Incredible response’: Customers clear the shelves as new Whittlesey butchers enjoys hugely successful first week

A new Whittlesey butchers has thanked customers for their “incredible response” to its first week of trading after selling out of several meats.

MQM Whittlesey, which opened its doors on Thursday, July 9, said they were taken aback by the level of interest over the past seven days.

The new business, located at 24 Broad Street, replaces the former All About Meat butchers which closed in June.

March Quality Meats has established a strong reputation in the Fenland town since opening its original shop in 1995, offering a range of premium meats.

In a social media post, MQM Whittlesey thanked customers for their support at the new shop, saying: “We can’t help but say thank you again, to all the lovely customers we’ve had over the past 4 days. “The response from you all has far exceeded our expectations and we’ve been blown away by the number of customers who have visited us. It really makes the 5am starts this week more than worth it.

“Every purchase, share and recommendation from you all has made our opening a huge success.

“We are proud to be serving the Whittlesey community and are committed to providing you with quality meat at a quality price and giving you the service you deserve.

“We apologise for running out of most our cooked meats you were after, such as our Haslets. We just didn’t realise how busy we would be!

“Thank you for choosing to support your local butcher and we hope to see you again!”

The new Whittlesey shop is open between 8am and 5pm Monday to Saturday and between 8am and 1pm on Sundays.
