How Peterborough residents can discover local changes before they happen
Finding out about a development, road closure or licensing application after the event can be frustrating – but a free online tool is designed to keep Peterborough communities informed.
The Public Notice Portal contains official announcements concerning proposals and decisions which could affect residents’ everyday lives.
These notices may be placed by Peterborough City Council, businesses, solicitors or individuals and provide transparency around matters ranging from planning to probate.
Users can search the portal by postcode, category or local authority, as well as register for daily, weekly or monthly email alerts.

Notices published by the Peterborough Telegraph also remain available in the newspaper and online.
Planning notices can reveal proposed homes, extensions or changes of use, while the traffic section includes closures, parking restrictions and diversions affecting routes around Peterborough.
Other categories cover applications to sell alcohol or host events, goods vehicle licensing, tenders, trustee and probate matters and statutory announcements.
Registered news publishers add notices from their printed titles to the portal, which carries nearly 14,000 live entries at any given time.
Peterborough residents can search current announcements free at publicnoticeportal.uk.
