Health and beauty retailer Superdrug eyes plans for third store in Peterborough
Major health and beauty retailer Superdrug looks set to open a new store on the edge of Peterborough.
Superdrug, which nationally has targeted new openings on retail parks and large destination stores, seems poised to move into a store on the Brotherhood Shopping Park at Lincoln Road, Walton.
Plans have just been submitted to Peterborough City Council by Superdrug owner, the AS Watson Group, which is seeking approval for a number of illuminated brand advertising signs.
Designs submitted with the application show some of the signs will display the name Superdrug.

The plans show the intention is to open in the former store operated by Tapi Carpets and Floors, which moved to the Boulevard Retail Park, Maskew Avenue, earlier this year.
Approval is being sought for a ‘flex-faced light box at high level, an internally illuminated fascia sign above the door, LED light goalpost and DDA compliant window manifestations’.
Superdrug currently has stores in the Queensgate Shopping Centre and the Serpentine Green Shopping Centre in Hampton.
The retailer has reported a fifth consecutive year of financial growth, with sales up 5.2 per cent to more than £1.7 billion and pre-tax profits up 5.3 per cent to £144.1 million.
News of the proposed investment in Peterborough comes in the wake of a number of new arrivals in the city.
These include the retail giant Frasers Group plus coffee retailer Jamaica Blue and eatery Seoul Plaza at the Queensgate Shopping Centre, which has also just announced £3 million investment by existing retailers Boots, Primark and Vision Express.
