Excitement building ahead of huge Lego exhibition at Peterborough Cathedral

With just a few days to go until the start of a huge Lego exhibition at Peterborough Cathedral, excitement is starting to build.

Travelling Bricks, an extraordinary globally touring exhibition made from over one million Lego pieces, will arrive in the city on Saturday – guaranteeing an awesome summer for all visitors.

Set within the Cathedral’s breathtaking historic interior, the exhibition features 120 large-scale models – including a 7.2-metre-long Titanic and a towering 3-metre rocket, to detailed aircraft including a Boeing 747 and historic ships such as HMS Victory and SS Great Britain - across 60 scenes, created by professional artists.

Visitors are taken on a journey through four zones,  Air, Land, Sea and Space, discovering transport history through extraordinary builds, from early inventions to modern engineering icons.

But of course, it is not just about the completed models – there will also be the chance for families to put their creativity to the test, and build their own designs, with over 200,000 Lego bricks available for visitors.

For younger visitors, the experience continues in the Giant Soft Bricks Playland, a dedicated soft play area where imagination and movement lead the way. Here, children can climb, build, stack and explore in a safe environment designed for hands-on play.

COO of Peterborough Cathedral, Jack Pishhorn said: "Following the incredible success of our Titanosaur exhibition, we’re proud to bring another world-class experience to  Peterborough Cathedral.

"Travelling Bricks continues our ambition to offer exhibitions that not only inspire visitors but also support the wider visitor economy across the city. We know events like this encourage people to spend more time here by exploring, staying longer and discovering everything Peterborough has to offer. At the same time, it creates a space for families to slow down, be together and enjoy the simple pleasure of creating something side by side."

Travelling Bricks can be viewed by ticketed entry of £10 per adult, £6 per child/student (ID required), with tickets available using the booking link or on the door. Your ticket provides access to the entire Cathedral, including the Travelling Bricks display and interactive area. You can also choose to add a donation during the booking process (Supporter ticket)
