Dinosaur egg hunt and other 'Jurassic adventures' set for fossil museum near Peterborough this Easter
Crack open a geode ‘egg’ and go on a dinosaur egg hunt at a family event coming to a museum near Peterborough.
Fossils Galore Museum is hosting its ‘Jurassic Adventure’ during the Easter holidays, from March 28 to April 11, with a variety of fun activities for all ages.
The venue is based in High Street, March, where owner and palaeontologist Jamie Jordan will be on hand to answer questions about fossils and dinosaurs and give demonstrations of his work.
A spokesperson for the museum said: “There’s lots to do for all the family - from children's activities where they can dig for their own treasure or smash open a rock full of crystals, museum displays full of real locally-discovered fossils, and a live preparation of Indie the Iguanodon.

“We have lots of new activities taking place through out the Easter holidays. Back by popular demand, we will be running our Dinosaur Egg Hunt. Visitors can hunt for the eggs then choose three to crack open and keep the dinosaur surprise inside.”
Events planned include:
• UK Dinosaur Hunt around the museum, free for children when you pay your museum entry. Can you discover all 25 UK dinosaurs and learn where in the UK they used to roam?
• Adopt a Dinosaur, choose a golden egg from the nest, help it hatch then name and take your new dinosaur friend home.

• Geode Egg Breaking (limited stock available) - breaking open Geodes to discover the treasure hiding inside.
• Saturday 11th April: Fossils Galore welcomes back their reptile handler, get up close to these living fossils, learn amazing facts about this group of animals. Places must be pre-booked.
The opening times are as follows: Monday 10am-4pm; Tuesday closed, Wednesday 10am-4:30pm; Thursday 10am-4:30pm; Friday 10am-4:30pm; Saturday 10am-4:30pm and Sunday closed.
