Cinema fans invited to watch The Lego Movie at Peterborough’s Cathedral Square big screen
Al fresco movie treat in store for movie buffs and Lego fans
Fans of the world’s favourite building blocks are in for a treat this summer with a free big-screen showing of The Lego Movie in Peterborough city centre.
On Sunday, August 2 Cathedral Square will be transformed into an al fresco cinema for a free screening of the 2014 animated family favourite, which follows LEGO minifigure
Emmet as he embarks on an action-packed quest to save his world.

The brick-tastic movie has been chosen to coincide with the opening of Peterborough Cathedral's summer exhibition, Travelling Bricks, a jaw-dropping event showcasing the myriad ways Lego can be used to fire the imagination and have fun.
It is the third year running that Peterborough Positive has hosted a free big screen movie experience in Cathedral Square.
“There's something really special about seeing Cathedral Square come alive with families,” said Chief Operating Officer Pep Cipriano. “It's one of my favourite events of the year and a wonderful reminder of the important role our city centre plays in bringing people together.”
Pep noted that reinforcing community and family bonds wasn’t the only benefit to be had:
“As well as bringing families together, events like this help drive footfall into the city centre, giving people the opportunity to discover and support local businesses.”
The 3pm screening is free to attend, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early or bring their own chairs.
Free face painting will also be on hand, plus there will be complimentary goody bags for the first 100 children.
