Charity CEO to take on daring wing walk in support of dementia care
Caroline Ignatius, CEO of The Devika Dementia C.I.C, is set to take on a daring wing walk challenge this June to raise funds for people living with dementia and their families.
Caroline, who leads the not-for-profit organisation providing specialist Dementia Day Services, will be strapped to the top of a plane flying up to 1,000 feet in the air as part of her latest fundraising effort.
The charity provides specialist dementia day service within Country Court Care Homes in Peterborough (Castor Lodge), Stamford (Tallington Lodge), Wisbech (Lyncroft Care Home), Huntingdon (Ferrars Hall) and Spalding
(Fenchurch House).

The challenge is deeply personal. Caroline’s mother, Devika, has been living with dementia for 16 years, while her father, Ernie, was diagnosed with vascular dementia following a stroke three years ago.
She said: “I’m living through the reality of dementia both as a daughter and as someone who wants to make a difference. I know how isolating, overwhelming and heartbreaking it can be for families.”
Caroline previously completed a skydive in support of The Alzheimer’s Society and is now pushing herself even further with this latest challenge.
The Devika Dementia C.I.C, is focused on connection, stimulation and joy, while offering vital respite for carers. The aim is to support individuals to remain living at home for as long as possible.
She added: “This isn’t just about adrenaline or ticking something off a bucket list.
“It’s about raising awareness and ensuring we can continue supporting more families who need us.”
The wing walk is scheduled to take place on Sunday 7th June at Classic Wings Duxford with Ethel Dares Wingwalking.
Funds raised will go directly towards sustaining and expanding dementia day services across the region.
