Charity brings smiles with afternoon teas under lockdown
Frustrated by lockdown preventing its members from attending its many social groups, a team of volunteers at CARESCO prepared 90 sumptuous boxes brimming with traditional afternoon tea favourites such as crustless sandwiches, cakes, as well as scones with fresh English strawberries, jam and clotted cream – plus other non-food treats.
“During the pandemic, we’ve really missed all those we support in the community”, said CARESCO chairman, Tina Campbell.

“The past few months have been strange and challenging for us all, but CARESCO will continue to provide vital services. I am pleased to say that our shop in Greenways, Sawtry is now open again, so we look forward to seeing new and familiar faces.”
