Businessman donates £5000 to Deeping couple who lost home to blaze last month
Dave Turner (69) and partner Olwyn Cornwell (59) lost almost everything when a fire engulfed their home in Beech Close, Market Deeping at 3:15am on August 8.

Hide AdAt its peak, 25 firefighters attended the blaze. The couple made it out safely but their home was destroyed- with a Peterborough United teddy amongst the only possessions that could be salvaged from their ruined home.
Fire crews were unable to determine the exact cause of the fire but confirmed it came from outside the property. There were reports of fireworks being set off nearby.
The couple moved in with Olwyn’s brother on a temporary basis as the community rallied round to help them get back on their feet.

Hide AdLocal businessman Peter McDermott read about the news and decided that he wanted to do all he could to help.
Peter owns You Garden, based in Market Deeping, and has donated £5000 to help with the costs of restoring the family’s home.
He said: “It has been a difficult year for most, however, having this happen to your family home doesn’t bear thinking about, we had to help.”
