Beko staff in Peterborough give much-loved colleague emotional send-off

Workers at Beko have paid tribute to their former colleague Sandra Conneely on Wednesday afternoon (January 14).

Colleagues and friends of Sandra lined the streets outside of the Beko Europe office in Morley Way, Woodston to give her a final send-off as the funeral procession passed by.

Those who gathered gave applause and paid tribute to the procession as it made its way to Peterborough Crematorium.

Sandra worked at the Hotpoint factory – now known as Beko Europe- for 20 years and following her passing, the company has paid tribute to her “compassion, dedication, kindness.”

A spokesperson for Beko Europe said: “Sandra was a valued member of our team for more than 20 years and she brought compassion, dedication, kindness, and a spirit of collaboration that touched everyone who had the privilege of working with her.

"She is deeply missed, and our thoughts are with her family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”

andra was married to James and was mother to David, Sasha and step-mother to Saffron.

She had two grandchildren, Sonny (7) and Lottie (3) with a third grandchild on the way. She also leaves her mother Margaret (93) and brothers Paul and Mark.

Sandra’s daughter Sasha has further paid tribute to her mother, stating: “She was an exceptional mum and always prioritised us as children. She put herself last all the time.

"She was motherly to everyone and was loved and trusted.

"Mum was a devoted nana and truly enjoyed being with the children and no task was ever too much for her.

"Everything she did was out of love and not duty.

“She leaves a huge hole in many people’s lives and hearts.”

“At work she led a team of people at Hotpoint but they were friends more than work colleagues and she regularly went away with them for special celebrations and everyone will miss her.

"She was highly regarded and so many people have said how she had helped them in times of need.

"She always lived in Peterborough and was well known in the village where she raised her children. Where ever she was, mum loved to build a community of friends.”
