A1 near Peterborough ‘partially closed’ after crash as incident causes queues to form on A47
Motorists are advised to take alternative routes
The A1 near Peterborough is partially closed this afternoon (Friday, September 18) after a crash.
A Policing Peterborough spokesperson said: “Traffic disruption on the A1 northbound and A47 in the area of Wansford.
“A1 northbound is partially closed due to a collision but this is having an impact on surrounding roads, if you can please try and avoid the area.”
According to the AA’s live traffic map, long queues are forming on the A1’s northbound carriageway between Wansford and Alwalton.
Traffic is also building in both directions along the A47 at Wansford.
Cambridgeshire Police has been contacted for comment.
