Huddersfield Town boss impressed with the impact of Robbie Savage at Peterborough United, while Archie Collins admits it will be weird playing against his old club

Huddersfield Town boss Martin Drury has been impressed with Peterborough United’s progress under new manager Robbie Savage.

The teams clash at the Accu Stadium on Tuesday evening when Posh will come face-to-face with their former midfielder Archie Collins who is now firmly entrenched in ‘The Terriers’ midfield.

Collins is predicting a quality game and Drury is certainly aware of the attacking threat posed by Posh under Savage. Three games under the new manager have seen Posh score nine goals, although the toughest test arrives tonight against the team third in League One and unbeaten at home.

Drury said: “We’ve watched the games Peterborough have played under Robbie and they are clearly a team with attacking threats. They have different ways to attack as they can play the ball forward quickly or be more patient.

"Robbie has clearly had an impact. He will be pleased with four points from his two League One games and he will want them to kick on.

“But we will try and impose ourselves on them. We will try and nullify their threats while trying to expose any weaknesses.

"We are very comfortable at home. We have been producing some great attacking numbers and playing a brand of football I hope our fans enjoy watching.”

Collins has been quietly making a name for himself with ‘The Terriers.’ He joined them late in the summer after rejecting a new contract offer at Posh after making 157 appearances in three seasons at London Road.

Collins said: “It’s always weird facing an old club, but I look forward to seeing some familiar faces and I’m sure it will be a good game. I didn’t have a pre-season so I’m still building myself up. My job is to give the team a platform from which they can go and express themselves.

"We have been creating an unbelievable amount of chances.”

Collins was part of two Posh EFL Trophy Final wins at Wembley and picked up a hat-trick of awards at last season’s club presentation night.
