Did you hear the siren in Peterborough?

A number of Peterborough Telegraph readers got in touch to say they heard the noise, but nobody seems to know from where it originated.

Steve Turner was just one who contacted the newspaper to say: "Why are air raid sirens going off near Longthorpe this morning??"

It's not the first time the issue has been raised.

Previously, a letter from Sarah and Andrew Granville said: "We’ve been woken a couple of nights in the past year by a siren sounding in the middle of the night (sounds like the wartime air raid siren). We live in South Bretton. Do any readers have any suggestion of where this might be coming from?"
