WATCH: Drug dealer given suspended sentence after being seen throwing cocaine from car

A drug dealer who threw Class A drugs out of his car door has been given a suspended jail sentence.

Police said they were on patrol in Yaxley on Tuesday 31 March when they noticed a black Ford Fiesta, being driven by Mohammed Yousif, that had no insurance.

The driver sped away from police and ended up in Bellflower drive, Yaxley, where he stopped, opened the door and threw drugs that landed on the floor close by.

Officers arrested Yousif, 24, after they found 63 wraps of cocaine, with an estimated value of £3780, in his coat on the back seat.

They also discovered £805 in cash and a mobile phone. Yousif, of Yardley Green Road, Birmingham, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and driving without insurance on Thursday 2 April. He was sentenced to two and half years in prison, suspended for three years, at Cambridge Crown Court last week.

Detective Constable George McCready, who led the investigation, said: “Yousif attempted to conceal drugs from the officers, but their swift actions resulted in the removal of them from the streets and a significant interruption to the local drug supply.”
