Stanground residents warned over thefts from cars

A spokesperson for the force said patrols were being carried out in the area in a bid to tackle the issue.

The spokesperson said: “Officers have recently been patrolling the Stanground and Cardea area following concerns about theft from vehicles.

“When leaving your car, even for a few minutes, it is important to always make sure you:

“Check it is locked

“Close all windows

“Hide electrical items and take any valuables or documents with you

“Park in well-lit and busier areas

“A few minutes is all the time opportunistic thieves may need to take advantage of vehicles left vulnerable.
