Police search Peterborough flat in connection with double stabbing

Police are searching a flat in Peterborough in connection with a stabbing in the city last night.

Two teenagers are currently in hospital following the incident in Welland Road, Dogsthorpe last night.

Today scenes of crime officers are carrying out a forensic search of a flat in near-by Figtree Walk.

A Cambridgeshire police spokeswoman said: "The scene in Figtree Walk is in relation to enquiries around the stabbing"

The spokesman added that there was a larger police presence in the area today to re-assure residents.

Police were called by the ambulance service at 6.22pm last night following the incident.

An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds where he is now described as stable and police said a 16-year-old youth was also taken to hospital with a single stab wound.
 He is also in a stable condition. The injuries to both are not thought to be life threatening.

No arrests have been made at this stage.

In answer to the Peterborough Telegraph's questions about a description of the culprits, the police spokeswoman said: "Enquiries continue to identify any suspects so we aren’t able to provide any descriptions at this stage."
