Police place closure order on Huntingdon home after reports of violence, drug-use and anti-social behaviour

A three-month closure order has been placed on a Huntingdon home after concerns were raised about anti-social behaviour, violence and drug misuse at the address.

Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court issued the order closing 16 Dallington Court on March 26 following an application from Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s Huntingdon Neighbourhood Team.

A force spokesperson said: “The action came as a result of frequent reports of anti-social behaviour, drug misuse and violence coming from the property.”

A closure order was granted and the property will be partially closed for three months.

PC Chester Lewis, from the Neighbourhood Team, said: “Residents living in the surrounding area of the property have endured no end of anti-social behaviour incidents.

“The closure order allows the tenants to remain living at the address but will prevent those who have been attending to commit anti-social behaviour and other criminal offences.”

The closure order states that the house be partially closed in accordance with the Anti-Social Behaviour and Policing Act 2014. No one is permitted to enter except the tenant and emergency services until 25 June 2026.
