Peterborough man arrested over weapon concerns in city street
A man has been arrested after residents reported a man running round a Peterborough street armed with hammers this morning.
A Peterborough police spokesman said they were called to Paston Ridings just before 8am today after reports of a man ‘waving two hammers’ and ‘possibly being in possession of a knife.’
Officers attended and a 40-year-old man from Peterborough was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.
He was taken to Thorpe Wood Police Station where he remains in custody.
