Peterborough man arrested on suspicion of murder after man dies of stab wounds in city
A Peterborough man has ben arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed to death in the city at the weekend.
Police were called out to a flat in Crown Street, New England, at about 5am where it was reported there had been a fight and a man had been stabbed.
Despite efforts from paramedics, 22-year-old Daniel Szalasny of Princes Gardens in Eastfield, Peterborough, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post mortem examination took place on Monday (10 May) which concluded Daniel died as a result of a stab wound to his chest.
A 20-year-old man was arrested in Peterborough this afternoon (Wednesday) on suspicion of murder.
A 35-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were arrested in Paston this morning on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three remain in custody at police stations in Cambridgeshire.
A 29-year-old man who was arrested in Peterborough on Sunday afternoon on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on bail to return to Thorpe Wood Police Station on 4 June.
