Police name man who was stabbed to death in Peterborough

Police have named a man who was stabbed to death in Peterborough at the weekend.

Officers were called out to a flat in Crown Street, New England, at about 5am where it was reported there had been a fight and a man had been stabbed.

Despite efforts from paramedics, 22-year-old Daniel Szalasny of Princes Gardens in Eastfield, Peterborough, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post mortem examination took place yesterday which concluded Daniel died as a result of a stab wound to his chest.

DCI Emma Pitts, from the Beds, Cambs and Herts Major Crime Unit (MCU), said: “Our investigation is progressing and we continue to interview a number of witnesses, as well as locate the person responsible therefore I am still appealing for anyone who may have information to get in touch.”
