The man in his 70s was withdrawing money from a cash machine at Morrisons, in Lincoln Road, Peterborough, at about 7pm on Saturday (24 July) when he was pushed to the ground by a man, believed to be in his 20s or 30s.

The robber took the money from the ATM and left the area in a 2006/2007 red Ford KA together with another man, thought to be older. The victim was taken to hospital but is not thought to have suffered serious injuries.

PC Hannah Kitchen said: “This was a nasty attack on a man who was simply going about his daily business. He was understandably shaken and no-one deserves to feel that way.

“We’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen something to help our investigation. Any information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, could make all the difference.”
