On April 11, Hooker broke into a property in Wainwright after watching his victim leave for work.

He stole a large number of goods worth more than £2,500 including game consoles, a laptop, camera, pots and pans and clothes.

However, local CCTV footage captured Hooker walking to the property empty handed but walking away with numerous bags.

He pleaded guilty to one count of burglary and was sentenced at Peterborough Crown Court on May 12. Another offence of burglary was taken into consideration.

PC Danny Cummings said: “Hooker watched and waited for his victim to leave before carrying out the burglary. He was clearly not aware he was being filmed on CCTV.

“We are committed to arresting those carrying out burglaries in the county and I hope this sentence sends a clear message that we take burglary very seriously.”
