New owners of Cambridgeshire property shocked to find what was left inside - as police launch investigation

The new owners of a Fenland property near Peterborough were greeted with a smelly surprise when they opened up the home for the first time.

A huge cannabis grow was found inside the property in Manea – which the new owners quickly reported to Cambridgeshire Police.

A force spokesperson said: “They may have expected to do a bit of gardening, but this wasn’t what they had in mind.

“Thankfully, they gave us a call, our officers attended to remove the plants and an investigation is ongoing.”

The force says drugs and drug related crime “can have a negative impact on our communities and its use can harm the health and safety of our residents”.

They added: “To help keep our communities safe, we encourage you to look out for common signs of drug dealing and let us know if you see anything suspicious.”
