Men sentenced for running county drug lines between Peterborough and Leicester
Three men have been sentenced for their involvement in running the ‘Haje’ county drugs lines between Peterborough and Leicester.
Cambridgeshire Police said officers raided a property in Grasmere Street, Leicester, on 10 March where they found Harem Abdulla and Dyako Abdwlrahman inside alongside two deal phones.
“This was part of Operation Hypernova – a crackdown on county lines drug dealing across Cambridgeshire,” a force spokesperson explained.
“They also arrested 20-year-old Safin Akram, who was helping to run the line from his home in St Michael’s Gate in Peterborough, with seven wraps of cocaine in his vehicle.

“Investigations revealed through phone records that the trio were sending out bulk messages and offering to supply cocaine in Peterborough.”
At Cambridge Crown Court on Monday (5 January), Abdulla, 28, of Wickworth Street, Nelson, Lancashire, was sentenced to three years in prison and Abdwlrahman, 22, of no fixed address, was sentenced to two years and nine months after previously pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine.
Akram was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for two years.
Detective Constable James Campbell, who investigated, said: “Drug dealing brings violence, exploitation and other serious crime to our streets and we see first-hand, the devastating impact it can have on individuals and families every day.
“Tackling drug dealing remains a priority and we’re committed to relentlessly pursuing those who profit from the misery it causes.”
Operation Hypernova is a force wide investigation to target the supply of class A controlled drugs, specifically crack cocaine and heroin by county lines dealers. In March last year, the team dismantled 50 county lines and charged 35 people with more than 100 drug and human trafficking offences.
