Man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender after city murder bailed

A man who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender following a murder in Peterborough has been bailed.

Police were called out to a flat in Crown Street, New England, at about 5am where it was reported there had been a fight and a man had been stabbed.

Police have not yet released the identity of the victim.

A 29-year-old man was arrested in Peterborough on Sunday on suspicion of assisting an offender. He has now been bailed by police until June 4.

DCI Emma Pitts, from the Beds, Cambs and Herts Major Crime Unit (MCU), said: “We are continuing to follow up a number of enquiries and working hard to bring those responsible to justice.

“I would like to thank all those who have been in contact with us so far however I would still urge anyone who may have information and we have not yet been in contact with, to get in touch with us as a matter of urgency.”
