Home closed after drug issues and anti-social behaviour makes neighbours' lives a misery

A three-month closure order has been placed on a Huntingdon home following concerns of drug use and anti-social behaviour.

Cambridge Magistrates’ Court issued the order closing 33 Drovers Pace on Friday (11 September) following an application from Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s Huntingdon Neighbourhood Team.

The action came as a result of frequent reports of drug use and anti-social behaviour coming from the property.

A closure order was granted and the property will be partially closed for three months.

PC James Ferries, from the Neighbourhood Team, said: “Residents living in the surrounding area have endured no end of anti-social behaviour.

“The closure order allows the tenant to remain living at the address but will prevent those attending to commit anti-social behaviour and other criminal offences.”

The closure order states that the house be partially close in accordance with the Anti-Social Behaviour and Policing Act 2014. No one is permitted to enter except the tenant, Places for People and the emergency services until 11 December.
