Explosion carried out after grenade found at Peterborough building site
Bomb disposal experts were called to a Peterborough building site after an old grenade was discovered.
Police and Ministry of Defence crews arrived at the construction site in Aqua Drive, Hampton Water at 9.20am.
A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: “Police were called today (23 June) at 9.20am to reports of a grenade that was found on a construction site in Hampton Water, Peterborough.
“Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) attended and disposed of the grenade in a controlled explosion.
“The site is now clear.”
