Crime stats revealed as consultation launched over continued gating of alleyways in Peterborough

Peterborough City Council has launched a series of consultations over Public Space Protection Orders in the city.

In 2023, five PSPOs were issued for areas of the city where gates were installed/retained in order to crackdown on anti-social behaviour.

Public Spaces Protection Orders give councils the ability to deal with a specific nuisance in an area by imposing certain conditions on the use of that area. Fines and police action can be taken if these conditions are breached.

These must be reviewed every three years.
