93-year-old left without mobility scooter after burglary

A 93-year-old man is now without his mobility scooter after a break-in last week in Werrington.

The offenders gained entrance to the garage at Martin Court between 10pm on Friday, August 12 and 1.30pm Saturday, August 13 and stole two scooters.

One of the scooters belonged to William Oak (93) of Martin Court who said: “I use it to go out to Tesco which is my local shop in the Werrington Centre.

“It’s certainly very inconvenient knowing I can’t go out to Tesco or the post office.”

Police were called to the scene at 1.50pm on Saturday, August 13 to reports of the burglary and crime officers attended to assist with the investigation.
