9-year-old boy making ‘good progress’ after surgery following dog bite in Peterborough

A 9-year-old boy who was bitten by a dog in Peterborough this week is making ‘good progress’ after surgery.

The boy was left with serious injuries on Tuesday (February 23) and had to be airlifted to Adenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for emergency surgery after being bitten by a dog while out on a walk in Braymere Road, Hampton.

Police seized the dog at the scene and it was taken to kennels while the investigation continues.

No arrests have so far been made.

A statement from Cambridgeshire Police said: “The child is making good progress and is expected to be released from hospital soon.

“The dog has been seized and no decision will be taken as to what happens to it until the investigation has concluded.”
