Child seriously injured after dog bite in Peterborough

A child in Peterborough has been seriously injured after being bitten by a dog this afternoon (February 23).

Residents in Hampton reported seeing the Air Ambulance land in Braymere Road, Hampton at just before 2pm this afternoon.

Police have since confirmed that they attended the scene after being called to reports that a dog had bitten a child. The child was seriously injured in the incident.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: “We were called at about 1.30pm today (23 February) with reports a child had been badly bitten by a dog in Braymere Road, Hampton.

“Officers and paramedics attended. The child, a boy, has been seriously injured as a result of the attack and is receiving medical treatment.

“The dog has been restrained at the scene.”
