WATCH: Drug dealing duo caught after leading police on "dangerous" 80mph pursuit through town near Peterborough
Two drug dealers have been jailed after leading police on a dangerous pursuit through Ramsey near Peterborough.
Officers from the Huntingdon Neighbourhood Team were on patrol when they spotted a black BMW they believed was displaying fake number plates at about 12pm on 20 November.
A Cambs Police spokesperson said: “When officers attempted to stop the vehicle on Bury Road, it accelerated away, continuing onto the B1040 towards Warboys. It was witnessed overtaking vehicles and reaching speeds of up to 80mph in a 40mph zone.
“The car eventually came to a stop shortly before the Kings Ripton junction where the driver, Stanley Rose, and passenger Isiah Thurston fled on foot.

“Thurston was carrying a bag which he was seen throwing over a gate. Inside, officers found wraps of cannabis and cocaine with a street value of up to £7,380, along with £40 in cash. He also had an additional £84 in his jacket pocket.
“A search of the BMW uncovered two mobile phones belonging to Rose and Thurston, scales, a knife in the driver’s door and £1,075 in cash.”
Thurston, 25, of School Lane, Manea, and Rose, 21, of Clayway, Ely, were both arrested and later charged.
At Cambridge Crown Court on Friday (13 February), Rose was sentenced to six years and two months after pleading guilty to dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, driving without a licence and insurance, fraudulently using a registration mark, concerning in the supply of cocaine and cannabis drugs and possession of a bladed article. He was also disqualified from driving for four years and 10 months.

Thurston was sentenced to four years and one month after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis and being concerned in the supply of both drugs.
Detective Constable Clair Godfrey, who investigated, said: “Rose and Thurston showed no regard for the safety of the public or the law. Their actions behind the wheel and their clear involvement in drug supply posed a significant risk to our communities. Thanks to the quick actions of our neighbourhood officers, their operation was stopped, and both men are now behind bars for a long time.”
