Man banned from Peterborough's Cathedral Square for two years after affray


A man has been banned from Peterborough’s Cathedral Square for two years after an affray in which his victim was left with serious facial injuries.
Lucas Lamb (36) caused a disturbance in front of dozens of people, including children, in Cathedral Square, Peterborough, which resulted in another man suffering serious facial injuries

Hide AdLamb, of Trelowen Way, Hempsted, Peterborough, was caught on CCTV attacking the 34-year-old victim at about 3.30pm on August 28 last year.
He was arrested within seven minutes of the 999 call.
Lamb was later charged with affray and failing to surrender to court bail, which he admitted in court.
He appeared at Cambridge Crown Court on May 29 where he was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended for two years, a three-month curfew to Parsons Lane, in Littleport, between 6pm and 7am, and is not to enter Cathedral Square for two years.
Lamb must also complete 100 hours of unpaid work, a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement, and a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement.

Hide AdThe following day, he further appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court where he was sentenced to six months in prison, suspended for two years, after being found guilty of being in possession of an offensive weapon, namely a golf club, and using threatening language with intent to cause fear of unlawful violence in Peterborough city centre in May last year.
Detective Constable Megan Sims, who investigated, said: “Lamb’s behaviour towards homeless people in Peterborough has been concerning, with reports of violence, demands for money and threats.
“Our city centre Neighbourhood Policing Team were successful in applying to the courts for a Slavery and Trafficking Risk Order (STRO) to be imposed on Lucas and his two brothers, which bans them from Peterborough city centre because of their behaviour.”
