Drug dealer jailed after barricading himself in a room at a Peterborough house
A drug dealer was found with a stash of heroin and crack cocaine after police were called to reports of a disturbance at a Peterborough home.
Cambridgeshire police say Mark Smith (42) began acting erratically at the property in Orton Golday before barricading himself into a bedroom.
A police spokesperson said that officers were called and tried to negotiate with Smith, but he swore at officers and refused to come out of the room.
Police state: “When officers forced the door Smith threw a chair at them, before being arrested.

“He was taken into custody and searched, where officers found 21 wraps of crack cocaine and five of heroin.
“An investigation determined the packaging of the drugs suggested they were destined for onward supply.”
The incident occurred on January 27.
Smith, of no known address, was jailed for 18 months at Cambridge Crown Court, having admitted being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, as well as assaulting a police officer.
Afterwards, DC Elouise Hicks said: “It was clear these drugs were meant for onward supply, and it was not simply a possession offence.
“Drug supply harms our communities, fuelling crime, exploitation and anti-social behaviour.
“We will not tolerate this kind of activity in Peterborough.
"Officers are working hard to identify those involved in supplying drugs, to take these substances off the streets and protect local people.”
