Striking new addition to Peterborough fan park ahead of England's World Cup clash with Argentina

A striking new addition has been made to one of Peterborough’s biggest fanzones just in times for this evening’s World Cup semi-final with Argentina.

Nathan Murdoch has paid a visit to The Willow Cafe Bar in Central Park to fulfil his desire to create a mural for one of the country’s stars that has propelled them to this point in the competition, Jude Bellingham.

Responsible for the Harry Kane artwork on the A47 and the ‘It’s Coming Home’ message on cladding in front of the Hilton Hotel building on the banks of the River Nene, Nathan has now decked out the Willow’s fanzone with new artwork of Kane and Bellingham, who have scored a combined 12 goals to get England this far.

The Willow has seen great success with its fanzone throughout the tournament and is gearing up for a further bumper crowd of over 500 people on Wednesday night.

Doors open at 5pm tonight and live music and family friendly entertainment starts at 6pm before kick-off at 8pm. Tickets must be purchased to gain entry.

Adrian Corrigan, who runs The Willow, alongside her partner Christine, said: “It has been a welcome boost for sure.

"Something like this has been sorely needed across the whole sector. Anything like this is a positive as it is a very difficult sector at the moment.

“Our numbers are building steadily as we go from game to game. We have got some fantastic numbers for all of the games we have sown and it has been a positive experience on the whole.

“We have a really great family feel with kids and parents coming along. Being in a park, we wanted it to be family and its a good safe environment for everyone to cheer on England.”
