Two new food and drink outlets have opened at an A1 service station in Peterborough.

Kate’s Cabin, located on the A1’s northbound carriageway at Alwalton, recently added Starbucks and Taco Bell to its offering for motorists.

Earlier this year a new Waitrose store opened at the service station as part of expansion plans announced by owner Welcome Break.

The new openings have created around 30 jobs.

Speaking in March, Adrian Grimes, Chief Operating Officer at Welcome Break said: “The all-new Waitrose & Partners at our Kate’s Cabin site, is part of an ongoing commitment we have to locals and road users to upgrade our offering.

“Later this summer, we’ll also be unveiling a Taco Bell and Starbucks Drive Thru, so road trippers and locals alike, can grab a Mexican-inspired feast and coffee ‘pick me up’ on their journeys!”

The service station, which opened in 1939, also features a Greggs cafe.
