Is there a bright future for this currently closed Peterborough pub?
A reopening for a currently closed pub in Peterborough city centre pub could be on the cards.
Hopes have been raised that the Sir Henry Royce on Broadway could reopen under new ownership.
The pub closed in February after previous owners Craft Union Pub Company confirmed that it would not be renewing the lease.
Operator Michelle Young described the situation as “heartbreaking” and immediately launched a campaign to do all she could to save the pub and bring it into family ownership.

Unfortunately, not enough could be raised in within the tight deadline and the pub has sat emptied out and hollow ever since.
The building was open as the Sir Henry Royce since 2015 after previously being home to Yates's for many years.
An application has now been lodged with Peterborough City Council to transfer the licence of the pub to a new operator, Amber Taverns Ltd.
The company owns a large number of pubs across the country but with the majority of its pubs centred in the north to the country in Manchester and Stoke-on-Trent, as well as in Birmingham further south. The nearest Amber Taverns pubs to Peterborough at present are the Stitching Pony in Kettering and The Gloucester in Wellingborough.
An extract from the Amber Taverns website reads: “We are passionate about our Public houses and the communities that they serve. We ensure that they are refurbished to a very high standard and offer a fantastic drinks selection and audio visual package including the full TNT and Sky Sports portfolio.
“We offer leading brands such as John Smiths, Fosters, Birra Moretti, Heineken, Guinness and Strongbow, the best selling bottled beers and alcopops as well as a great selection of wine and soft drinks. We have 175 public houses across the North West, North East, Midlands, Scotland and Wales. These are mainly community locals in busy towns as well as some city centre venues.”
The Peterborough Telegraph has approached Amber Taverns Ltd for comment.
