The new outlet, which has been taking shape at the front of the Morrisons store on Lincoln Road, Walton, is creating 20 jobs.

Motorists will be able to enjoy a cuppa from February 19, and the indoor cafe area will open later when Lockdown restrictions allow.

To celebrate the opening, there will be welcome drink vouchers being distributed by the local businesses in the area and social media competitions running.

Complimentary Starbucks gift bags will be given to the first 150 customers who visit.

The store, which will be operated by Starbucks licensee Queensway Coffee Houses, will support the British Heart Foundation as its local charity partner throughout the year. The BHF’s vision is a world free from the fear of heart and circulatory diseases.

Shakeel Jivraj, head of operations at Queensway Coffee Houses, said: “We are so excited to open our new store in Peterborough joining our Starbucks Cathedral store. The team are closely following guidance from both Government and health authorities to keep everyone safe in-store.

“We can’t wait to start welcoming new faces over the next few weeks.”
