Residents doctors at Peterborough City Hospital to walk out in strike action
Resident doctors at Peterborough City Hospital will be going on strike for five days from Friday (November 14).
The strike action will take place between 7am on Friday November 14 and 7am Wednesday November 19.
The dispute if over pay and a lack of government commitment to delivering immediate reforms to improve training numbers and training bottlenecks.
More than 90% of British Medical Association members voted for strike action.

The BMA website states that: “The government knows how to avert strike action – by setting out a credible path to pay restoration and by committing to delivering immediate reforms to improve training numbers and training bottlenecks.
“Even though more than 90% of members voted in favour of taking action on both the pay dispute and the training numbers dispute, it’s clear the Government are not prepared to move on these areas.
“We have mandates to strike over pay erosion and insufficient specialty training places, and the BMA is now calling for a full walkout of resident doctors in England, beginning Friday 14 November.”
A resident doctor is a someone who has completed a medical degree and in working under the supervision of a senior doctor.
