Peterborough has ‘unhealthiest high street in the country’
The research from Bankrate.com/uk rated the city as the worst due to below average number of gyms and lack of green space near the high street. Peterborough was deducted 150 points for the number of fast food takeaways available to citizens, and the fact Peterborough has double the amount of pawn brokers than the average UK high street.
Peterborough was given a score of -104, with Rotheram in second last with -77, and Swindon third bottom with 19.

Hide AdTopping the list was York with a score of 471, with Glasogow and London rounding out the top three..
County neighbour Cambridge topped the charts for having the most green spaces.
Points were awarded for gyms, leisure centres, green spaces, vegan suitable restaurants, libraries, museums, well being centres, GP access and pubs, while points were subtracted for fast food takeaways, vape shops, pawn shops and betting shops.
