A statement posted to parents on the Academy’s website read: “Due to the Academy currently having no heating or access to hot water, unfortunately, the decision has been made to close the Academy.

“If your child has a mobile phone, they have been asked to contact you with regards to permission to leave the site. Students will not be able to leave the site without your permission either via a text message to your child, which will be checked by a member of staff or you having spoke to a member of staff.

“Please note the Academy will contact you, you do not need to contact reception.

“Apologies for the inconvenience, we will send an update as soon as possible.”
