Local Freemasons support Whizz Kidz Charity

Freemasons in Oundle have donated £2,500 to the Whizz Kidz charity, who provide high-quality equipment tailored for children and young people who need wheelchairs.
During Tim Fussell’s year as the Lodge’s Worshipful Master, £1,250 was raised. This amount was generously matched by the Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire Provincial Grand Charity.
Tim had previously run the London marathon twice to raise funds for Whizz Kidz and was keen to continue supporting the charity during his year.
Tim, together with the Lodge’s Charity Steward, Kevin Calvert, visited Whizz Kidz and presented the cheque to Beth from the charity, who expressed grateful thanks and confirmed that the donation would be put towards acquiring a specially adapted wheelchair for a local young person.
For the first time in their history Whizz Kidz had to close their waiting list because the demands for wheelchairs and mobility equipment became overwhelming, over 1,000 children are currently stuck waiting, whilst their childhood slips away. This makes the donation by local Freemasons even more valuable to local youngsters.
