Mr Hurst said: “Tydd St Giles Golf & Country Club has grown in to something much greater than we could have possibly imagined when I started it in the late 1980s/early 1990s on an agricultural site.

“It is now a multi-million-pound golf and leisure homes complex.

“The investment by Pure Leisure Group was a vital part of its success, of which I am so thoroughly proud.

“Pure Leisure Group introduced holiday lodges in 2008 and put Tydd St Giles Golf & Country Club firmly on the UK map as a holiday destination resort.

“There are now more than 70 holiday lodges around the site with stunning views across the golf course and countryside, which are used by golfers, fitness club goers and holiday makers alike.

“Further investment by Pure Leisure Group enabled the launch of a £2million leisure complex in 2013.

“I would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who has been involved in helping to make Tydd St Giles Golf & Country Club what it is today after 21 years in business.

He added: “It is an exciting time for my family and I as we now look forward to other life opportunities in the future.”

“I’d like to thank the hardworking staff members at the complex, Tydd St Giles Village & Parish Council Leader, Rex Mallet and his family and his many colleagues for their unreserved support, all of the team at Fenland District Council past and present, as well as our local traders, UK and international traders, service providers and suppliers.

“I would also like to thank our wonderful, loyal customers old and new.

“We sincerely wish the Directors of the Pure Leisure Group and Tydd St Giles Golf & Golf & Country Club the very best for a great future.”
