Business investment specialists Haatch and IT solutions provider the Smart Group have created an around-the-clock Disaster Recovery Centre.

The centre, sited at Smart Group’s home in Forder Way, Hampton, offers 25 plus seats and full IT support to businesses so when the worst happens a core team of customer facing roles can move to the centre and continue as normal.

Fred Soneya, co-founder of Haatch, said: “Business often don’t plan for disaster but they can happen. For instance, recently when internet connections went down for many firms in Peterborough.

“We’re offering business continuity. By the time the core team from the client firm has driven to this site, their phone line will have been moved here, their systems will be up and logged on and customers calling will not notice anything differnet.

“I see it as offering an insurance policy with the customer paying a low fee to be a member of the disaster recovery centre.”

The creation of the new centre has created a number of jobs with the Smart Group taking on two new engineers and Haatch hiring community managers and marketers.
