New haulage venture is taking to the roads in Peterborough

A new haulage company that will be headquartered in Peterborough is taking to the roads.

Called REL Transport, the business has been put together by entrepreneur Andy Scott. founder of REL Capital.

Mr Scott has combined a number of businesses to create the new operation that will be based out of REL House in Southgate Way, Orton Southgate.

They include Bison Transport, of Peterborough, Barnack Storage and Logistics of Peterborough, plus a haulage firm in Milton Keynes and the just completed purchase of the £5 million turnover Beatties Brothers in Stevenage.

The new acquisition, which has saved 52 jobs, adds 32 trucks and three warehouses to the business and brings the fleet to 110 HGVs.

Mr Scott said: “In terms of UK coverage, Peterborough is great as a transport hub.”
